Royal Rehab—Rehabilitation & Disability
Royal Rehab—An Introduction
Royal Rehab provides specialist rehabilitation and disability services for people who’ve acquired a disability or impairment through trauma, accident or illness.
We offer on-site and at-home rehabilitation for brain and spinal cord injury and other complex, long term health needs. We support specialist spinal cord rehab in regional NSW.
Our private hospital accommodates patients with stroke and other complex neurological and orthopaedic conditions.
Our lifestyle support services provide long-term supported accommodation, and a range of other services to support the lifestyles of people with disability.
Founded in 1899, we’ve operated from our present site in Ryde for over a century.
Training and research
We’re a teaching hospital of the University of Sydney and the University of Western Sydney, training specialists and undertaking research in rehabilitation.
Our college is a leading provider of quality educational services, delivering qualifications for health, rehabilitation and disability professionals, in Australia.
We participate in a range of state, national and international committees.
Our structure and funding
Royal Rehab is a not for profit public company and registered charity. We provide publicly funded rehabilitation services as an affiliated health organisation under the NSW Health Services Act and are accredited with the NSW Department of Human Services’ Ageing, Disability and Home Care (ADHC), and with the NSW Lifetime Care and Support Authority (LTCSA).
Donations from business and the broader community help us with new equipment, new programs and research.
Vice-Regal Patronage for Royal Rehab has been granted, commencing from 2 October 2014 by His Excellency General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), Governor of New South Wales.
