A brief rundown on the services provided by Business Support.

 

Business Support Services forms part of the Business Services Directorate and includes a well skilled network of departments supporting the provision of best care for clients and residents. Together and individually, the departments provide integral support to both clinical and non-clinical services and are committed to achieving a high level of service. Particular emphasis is placed on the following:

Business Support Services comprise:

 

Human Resources

Provides industrial advice, injury management and rehabilitation claims management, a payroll service and co-ordination of training activities to staff employed by Royal Rehab and some associated organisations on site.

Financial Services

Provides financial and administrative services for the Centre and its core business units/services and accounting services for separate operating entities.

Information Technology

Manages Royal Rehab LAN and associated software and its links with the Northern Sydney Health WAN.

Corporate Services

Building Services – Maintains all engineering plant, equipment, utilities, buildings, gardens and grounds throughout Royal Rehab. Coordinates a preventative maintenance program and general small maintenance and installation works through the BEIMS maintenance program. Oversees all capital works.

Centre Services - Coordinates the linen/laundry service, manages ordering and issuing of staff uniforms and provides sewing services to clients, residents and staff. Supports ECS residents in meeting their personal shopping needs. Coordinates Village Unit bookings for clients’ relatives/carers, staff and overseas students.

Food and Nutrition Services - Receives and finishes cook/chill foods and provides a complete distribution service to residents, clients and staff of the Centre. Regular client satisfaction surveys and clinical research provides insight into the specific needs of the different client groups within the Royal Rehab units. This information forms the basis for quality improvements within Food Services.

Purchasing and Stores – The internal Central Store supplies stock to client areas and is managed through a computerised Imprest system to enable nursing staff to focus their time on providing clinical care. In addition, Stores assists all Centre areas in ordering both clinical and non-clinical products, weekly audits of Centre vehicles and various courier duties.

Waste Management - The Centre has developed a waste management plan in line with Department of Health Guidelines. The Royal Rehab recycles both paper and commingled products and ensures the use of environmentally friendly chemicals in all Royal Rehab cleaning operations procedures.
